Hong Kong Hobo: Where, what, and who to see when you are in Hong Kong

April 30, 2012
When I first began this trip, I thought "I'm going to help change the world".  Really I just changed myself.  As the videos, photos, and blogs evolved I realized that I loved Organic Hobo.  I always knew -  but making this video was the moment that I really understood.  I had high hopes for this project to succeed, but at this point, I am willing for it to. What is Organic Hobo?  It is our way to inspire the world to eat, move, and roll like a hobo.  OH does this through photos, videos, and stories.  This our passion and mission.  I truly believe that everyone has the right to do what they love - but they have to fight for it. ... Buenos Aires: Better scene than tasted

March 27, 2012
by Bruce Our original plan was to fly from Bogota into Rio de Janeiro in time for Christmas but lagging visas and the very strong Brazilian Real had us rethink that last minute. We decided to skip Brazil this trip and head straight to Buenos Aires, Argentina figuring we could really use the extra time to explore the second largest land mass in South America. Buenos Aires lived up to its reputation for being the Europe of South America. Beautiful neighborhoods (Retiro is amazing), chic shops, large parks and plazas. Its a wonderful mix of old and new and the porteños are proud of it.  On the other hand there's the glaring issue of trash and litter which most people ... (more...)

Amazing Exclusive Race: Landscape of Bolivia through two Australians

March 21, 2012
By Harry It is always a pleasure to meet another hobo/traveler.  While Bruce and I were in Bolivia we had the honor of meeting a couple from Australia doing their version of the Amazing Race. It was meant to be...Even after a Twelve hour bus ride on dirt roads we all still assimilated and laughed at the miserable bus ride the night before.  Tired and very cranky we all hopped directly onto a tour to see the landscapes that we were looking for.  The scenery here is so beautiful it almost looks like Salvador Dali painted it himself.  Sadly our four day treck came to an end way too quick, but we did get left with our photos, memories and of ... Valparaiso, Chile: Worn around the edges but full of flavor and charm

February 24, 2012
a:link { COLOR: #0000FF; } a:visited { COLOR: #800080; } a:hover { COLOR: #FF0000; } a:active { COLOR: #00FF00; } by Bruce After a few days in Santiago, we needed to get out of that city.  Too often,  big, landlocked cities leave me feeling claustrophobic and parched.  We'd heard great stuff about Valparaiso, Viña del Mar and Pichilemu.  Shame we weren't here for the surf because Pichi is world class, so we struck out for both V-towns which are only a few hours bus ride away.  Our mistake though, was wasting time in Viña.  Unless you're looking for crowded beaches, touristy boulevards overrun by families and drunk college kids, don't even bother.  Save your pesos. Valparaiso is big, grimy, and proudly blue-collar.  Its still a major port city, though well ... (more...)

Drive By Bolivia: Photos of Bolivia By Car

February 23, 2012
By Harry The landscapes in this trip have made it all seem like a dream.  But the opportunity to capture the landscapes isn't always as easy as it seems.  In a perfect world, we'd wait in front of a beautiful landscape until the light hit just right to capture that perfect moment.  In reality, we have limited time and resources.  Fellow drivers and passengers can only tolerate the Hobos' begging for a stop every so often, and sometimes not at all.  In the end, we don't end up with Ansdel Adams or a standard tourist shot.  As a hobo, you have to make do with what you have, whether you're in the kitchen or on a bus.  That's what makes ... The 2 in 1: Fresh fruit reminder and Hobo haircuts on the road

February 1, 2012
by Bruce Part 1.  We are still chasing summer here in South America and trying our darndest to save some coin so we can indulge at the ever impressive fruit stands that we come across. I'm merely stressing how good fruits are and that you should consume them wherever you live!  Here, watermelon is in abundance.  I think I appreciate it more now than I did when I was a youth growing up in foggy San Francisco.  Nearly everywhere we've been, its been amazing.  Tip for choosing watermelon:  Give it a knock witgh your middle finger knuckle and the more hollow sounding the more ripe it is.   Listen for low that low deep 'thud'.  From Buenos Aires to Mendoza to ...
